Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Marketing Manager

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marketing Manager to join our team at the National Portrait Gallery. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing our marketing strategies, managing our marketing campaigns, and promoting our brand to the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the National Portrait Gallery's brand and exhibitions.
  • Manage and coordinate marketing campaigns across all channels, including digital, print, and events.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to ensure consistency in our brand messaging and visual identity.
  • Manage the marketing budget and ensure value for money in all procurement.
  • Maximize income generation by supporting the marketing of commercial activity, fundraising, corporate hire, events, and ticketing.
  • Oversee the Gallery's visitor and market research programme.
  • Support the marketing and promotion of the Gallery's Membership scheme.
  • Work with the Director of Audiences to implement the new brand and ongoing brand management.
  • Actively research and develop potential new marketing leads and promotional opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with relevant organizations, groups, and promotional partners.
  • Work with the Digital Communications Manager to develop digital, online, and e-marketing strategies.
  • Manage the production of print materials and digital marketing assets.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure accuracy and deadlines are met.
  • Liaise closely with the Development Team to ensure that supporters and sponsors' requirements are fulfilled.
  • Co-ordinate on-site marketing and promotion.
  • Work with the Senior Communications Manager to ensure all marketing activity is coordinated and fits the department's main aims and objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate campaign evaluation and visitor figure reporting and analysis.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and forecasting.
  • Line-manage the Marketing team.
  • Deputise for and assist the Director of Audiences as necessary.

**Requirements:**

  • Proven experience in marketing management, preferably in a cultural or arts organization.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and software.
