ScottishPower is revolutionizing its Telecoms function, and we're seeking an experienced Change Management Engineer to join our journey. As a key part of our network's business, telecoms play a crucial role in our evolution towards Net Zero.
We're looking for a skilled professional to oversee and coordinate change while promoting stability across our operational telecoms network. You'll lead change activity, provide in-depth technical analysis, and approvals to establish a safe and integral telecommunications network.
Key Responsibilities
As our Change Management Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Change Control: Develop, implement, and monitor ITIL change management processes and artefacts, promoting best practice to maximize accuracy and efficacy.
- Change Governance: Take ownership of Change Advisory Board (CAB) governance, presenting changes at CAB, reviewing planned change information, and leading communication of change impacts to stakeholders.
- Policies and Standards: Develop, maintain, and improve change-related standards, policies, templates, and work instructions, promoting stakeholder compliance.
- Horizon Scanning: Collaborate with external third parties to understand externally mandated network change and coordinate teams to mitigate adverse impact.
- Process Efficiency: Develop KPIs and process improvements to manage and promote clear method statements and solutions, achieving first-time fix and minimizing roll-back/repeat site visits.
- Metrics: Implement systems and processes to measure and monitor team productivity and tasks against Service Level Agreements, risk assessments, and average time per change.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain data, reporting on monthly change metrics.
- System Updates: Ensure CMDB accuracy and currency, maintaining and validating change-related adjustments.
Requirements
We're looking for candidates with an understanding of operational telecoms networks and architectures, including legacy and current transmission (SDH/PDH, MPLS-TP, optical, IP, Ethernet) and wireless/mobile.
Experience in change management models, ITIL best practice, and developing and maintaining change governance is essential. You should have experience leading Change Advisory Board and managing the change calendar, as well as producing regular reporting on metrics and business impact.
Experience engaging and managing diverse stakeholders, including senior management, external parties, and preferably in a regulated environment, is also required. Understanding of process engineering and ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement enhancements is desirable.
What's in it for you
As a Change Management Engineer at ScottishPower, you'll enjoy a competitive salary, reviewed annually, and a range of benefits, including a pension scheme with double matching, 36 days annual leave, and access to technology vouchers, electric vehicle schemes, and more.
