Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing design evidence, specifying prototypes, and mentoring junior engineers.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects and contribute to the planning and reactive support of testing and commissioning activities. You will have the chance to make presentations to technical and management audiences and author technical reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing design documentation and presenting it to customers and wider groups
- Specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing
- Mentoring junior engineers regarding technical matters
- Authoring technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations as required
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science Subjects, and be proficient in CAD, MS Office, and other IT applications. You will also need to have strong problem-solving skills and be able to identify and keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
