Production Engineer Job Description

Mploy Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to support the introduction of new products into production. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maximum efficiency is obtained and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the integration of new products into production by identifying and installing work instructions, correct tooling, JIGs and fixtures, and line layout.
  • Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing and reviewing standard work methods and work instructions.
  • Identify areas to maximise efficiency, reduce process waste, and execute six sigma projects to improve business efficiency.
  • Train and develop production staff to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures and maintain quality standards.
  • Conduct PFMEA as a part of the Project Lifecycle Process.
  • Carry out post-build reviews in the pre-production phase of the NPI projects.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working as a Production Engineer and hold an HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Industrial or Production Engineering. Previous exposure to lean manufacturing methods and quality methodologies such as 5S, Kanban, and 6-sigma (Green Belt or higher) would be a distinct advantage, as would experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Autodesk Inventor) on equipment, systems and components. Experience of the production engineering of castings, injection moulding, gear design and assembly techniques would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of flowline manufacture.

This is a full-time permanent position with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
