CNC Workshop Production Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Workshop Production Engineer to join our team at South West Recruitment. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for producing all relevant documentation, routings, procedures, programs, tooling, and equipment to enable the successful manufacture and testing of various valves for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Marine sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement efficient CNC machining processes to meet production demands.
  • Design and create set-up sheets for CNC machines, including cutting tools, fixtures, and inspection equipment.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to overcome production and testing issues.
  • Support skilled operators with the production of prototypes and production products.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Develop solutions for manufacturing components across the machine shop using standardized tooling and production methods.
  • Design new cutting tools and work holding solutions to meet production needs.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to HNC level or actively working towards completion of a similar Mechanical or Production Engineering qualification.
  • Possess a sound understanding of modern manufacturing methods.
  • Able to design jigs and fixtures using CAD (preferably 3D).
  • Conversant with Design for manufacture (DFM), Lean Manufacture Value Analysis, and Value Engineering (VAVE).
  • Flexible with the ability to work to deadlines and the determination to see a job through to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • PC Literate, specifically in PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Project, and Excel.
