Director, Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research

Messiah University seeks a visionary leader to direct the Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research. The Collaboratory provides innovative learning opportunities for students through engineering-focused projects that meet the needs of our partners in missions and underprivileged communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a positive culture that fosters the Collaboratory's mission and values.
  • Lead strategic planning in partnership with the ENGR department leadership.
  • Coordinate program delivery across multiple engineering project sectors.
  • Develop and implement discipleship and leadership development programming.
  • Facilitate external advisory and student leadership boards.
  • Manage Collaboratory budgets, including operations, fundraising, and donor relations.
  • Supervise student leaders and work-study students.
  • Travel internationally with student site teams and for project or donor development, following university protocols for risk management.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field, or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in organizational leadership, ministry/missions, and engineering industry.
  • Ability to inspire others in mission, spark innovation, relate to international partner communities, and encourage collaboration across disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program development and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
