Job Title: Assistant Director of Finance

Join Ad Warrior as we seek an experienced and ambitious Assistant Director of Finance to lead our finance function and drive business growth.

About the Role

The Assistant Director of Finance will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the finance team, ensuring the effective management of financial resources and the delivery of financial objectives.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading a professional finance department, with experience of advising and supporting senior officers and members on financial issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function, providing strategic direction and guidance to the team
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and improve financial performance
  • Manage and monitor budgets, ensuring effective use of financial resources
  • Provide financial expertise and advice to senior officers and members
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners and suppliers
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant
  • Experience of leading a professional finance department in a local government environment or multifunctional commercial organisation
  • Ability to manage change, including supporting teams in a positive, influential and resilient way
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines, exercising judgement over priorities and reconciling conflicting demands and pressures
