About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Victim Support as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) in our DRIVE IDVA Team. As an IDVA, you will work with high-risk survivors of domestic abuse, providing medium to long-term support based on thorough risk assessment and individual safety and support planning.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of domestic abuse, including its impact on victims and their children. You will need to understand principles of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children. Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people is also essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills are required when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
