Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at RED Engineering Design in Newcastle. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of electrical systems for data centres and other mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for data centres and other mission-critical projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical systems meet client requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys and tests to ensure existing electrical installations meet industry standards.
  • Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services purposes.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
Requirements:
  • HND or degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Working towards or have achieved MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent.
  • Experience of specification design/drawing for at least one building type.
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and spreadsheet software.
  • Good understanding of BS standards.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines.
  • Managerial skills and ability to act in an ethical manner.
