Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

RED Engineering Design is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Newcastle. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design solutions for data centre projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical systems.
  • Conduct site surveys and tests to ensure existing electrical installations meet required standards.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Hold a HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Have experience in electrical design for data centre projects, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Be proficient in MS Office and spreadsheet software, with a good understanding of BS standards.
  • Have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Be willing to work towards Chartered Engineer status and maintain a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
