Job Title: Waking Night Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Residential Support Worker to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our care.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 24-hour support to our service users, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met. You will work closely with our team to create a safe and nurturing environment, promoting independence, confidence, and social-emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users, promoting their independence and wellbeing.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Requirements:
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve within the required timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people in a children's home setting.
  • Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
