As an Electronic Design Apprentice, you'll have the chance to develop your skills in electronic system design, working on projects that contribute to the UK's national security.

The apprenticeship follows the Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer (Degree) Standard, which includes both theoretical and practical training in electronic system design.

During the initial training period, you'll work on various electronic projects, developing your skills and knowledge in areas such as circuit design, component recognition, and fault-finding techniques.

After completing the initial training, you'll progress to a series of 6-month placements within the company, where you'll apply your skills and knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Upon successful completion of the HND, you'll embark on further placements, working towards your Apprenticeship End Point Assessment (Degree phase) and gaining valuable experience in electronic system design.

In addition to your technical skills, you'll require excellent teamwork and communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt to new situations quickly.

Requirements

  • HNC (level 4) in Electronics
  • 5 GCSE's at grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English
  • Aged 18 or over (due to security clearance requirements)
  • British National status required

Salary: £22,250/year, increasing annually throughout your apprenticeship
