NMC Cyber Detect Service Lead

£60,000 - £65,000 per annum

We are looking for a skilled individual to lead our NMC Cyber Detect Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality service that provides visibility and control of information risks for policing.

This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand and proactively manage risk across the technology estate at both national and force levels. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cyber security, leadership, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the Detect activities within the NMC and quality/delivery of the service
  • Engage with all aspects of the NMC to ensure efficient and robust service delivery
  • Responsible for the value/efficiency of the service/team
  • Accountable for the evolution/development of the PM service
  • Accountable for related documentation/processes within the PM area
  • Responsible for quality of the PM service/content delivery/validation
  • Collaborate with other NMC services for seamless integration/maximizing outputs
  • Represent/deliver performance/value of the Cyber Detect Team via reports/presentations

Requirements:

  • Experience in fast-paced operational security environment
  • Driving/motivating a team experience
  • Customer-facing environment experience
  • Security environment experience
  • Internal/external stakeholder management/engagement experience
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of security methodologies/processes/incident investigations
  • Cyber Security tools/products knowledge/hands-on experience
  • IP networks/key components knowledge/experience
  • Ability to apply processes to incidents/investigations
  • Genuine enthusiasm/drive for Cyber Security/team improvement
  • Motivated/ambitious to work on own initiative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task/prioritise/manage time effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills/professional demeanour
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Familiar with SIEM technology/alert handling/data analysis/escalation/closure
  • Able to convey technical speak/plain English/contextualisation
  • Providing thought leadership/shaping Protective Monitoring Service
  • Creating reports for leadership team when required

Clearance Requirements:

All applicants must be eligible for NPPV3 and SC clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance before starting with PDS.
