Chief Nurse Job Description

Medicare Insourcing Services Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Nurse to lead our nursing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing governance principles across our divisions, ensuring that our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and service delivery are of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement governance principles across divisions to ensure SOPs and service delivery are fit for purpose.
  • Provide professional leadership to nursing staff, working closely with the Medical Director and clinical governance department.
  • Develop and update clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Assist clients in understanding and implementing governance best practices to enhance organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop new service lines, establishing appropriate governance frameworks from inception.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing services to ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with governance, clinical, and compliance issues, ensuring these are communicated to the team and solutions are delivered to prevent identified risks.
  • Establish metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of governance initiatives and service delivery.
  • Attend client Service Review meetings to discuss performance against KPIs.
  • Evaluate and improve governance processes and procedures to enhance organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide training and education to staff members on governance principles, ISO standards, and related procedures.
  • Attend board meetings and lead the governance and clinical risk agenda.
