About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and organised administrator to join our team as a Medical Secretary. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and high-quality secretarial and administrative support to two Consultants within General Surgery.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for liaising with colleagues, patients, and parents/guardians in a professional manner and undertaking a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties. They will also be expected to manage and prioritise their own workload using experience and initiative.

Requirements

  • Good standard of education
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of CWS, WPAS, and MedSecs

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in a secretarial role within the NHS
  • RSA/OCR level III or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Experience of working in a hospital environment
