About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our Mental Health Support Team (MHST) initiative within Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of mental health practitioners, working closely with senior mental health leads in schools and other Service Managers in the children's division to ensure a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of mental health practitioners within educational settings.
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of a range of Whole School Approach activities within education settings.
  • Develop and implement mental health programs and interventions tailored to the unique needs of students and educational staff.
  • Conduct assessments and provide individual and group therapy to students dealing with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, leadership teams and parents/carers to create a supportive and inclusive mental health framework.
  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in mental health and education.
  • Offer training and professional development to education staff.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in mental health and education, with experience in leadership and management roles. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of relevant policy, legislation, and drivers, as well as a full understanding of relevant clinical practice and standards. They will also have basic IT skills and evidence of management, leadership, and organisational development issues that have had a positive impact on service delivery.

The successful candidate will be a member of a recognised professional body and hold a current professional registration. They will also have educated to Masters Level or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experiential learning/experience.
