Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for this role is £26,750, with potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal, taking the maximum salary up to £30,750. Additionally, you will receive 25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing to a maximum of 30 days, as well as access to benefits including season ticket loan, pension scheme, life assurance, occupational sick pay, eye-care vouchers, regular wellbeing talks and activities, continuous training and career development via a dedicated learning management system, and a 24/7 Employee Assistance programme.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to provide support for individuals recovering from drug or alcohol misuse through one-to-one counselling and group work. The post holder will also carry out strength-based assessments, work with individuals to create care plans, and promote visible recovery. You will play a key role in the smooth running of the therapeutic community, supervising academic placements to ensure trainees acquire the necessary skills and competencies to contribute effectively to good mental health care.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have good office IT skills and experience working in the substance misuse field or similar. This is an operational requirement for the role to be fulfilled by a female, determined compliant under ACAS guidelines for recruiting applicants with a protected characteristic to do a certain job.
