About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled MRI Lead Radiographer to join our team at Ramsay Health Care UK. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for leading our MRI service and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the MRI service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
  • Commission and manage the use of new MRI scanners, ensuring they are safely and effectively integrated into our service.
  • Perform specialized MRI procedures, including cardiac and small bowel enterography, and liver imaging.
  • Prioritize workload according to clinical urgency and need, working single-handedly and leading a team of radiographers.
  • Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload, working with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment, and facilities.
  • Supervise and develop junior colleagues, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent patient care.
  • Responsible for MRI safety, ensuring compliance with local rules and regulations, and participating in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Provide input to the review, update, and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes, ensuring all records are maintained in line with statutory and organizational requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience of commissioning and managing new MRI scanners.
  • HCPC registration and a DCR or BSc (Hons) radiography qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in MRI, ideally in cardiac and small bowel enterography, and liver imaging.
  • Experience of managing a team of radiographers or as a lead, with a flexible and dynamic approach.
  • Competency in IV cannulation and the ability to work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC.
