About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse to join our team at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Neonatal Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, family-centred care to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical care to neonates and their families, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care.
- Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of the neonatal unit.
- Supervise and support junior staff, including pre-registration student nurses.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the neonatal unit.
- Participate in service development and implementation of change, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Our neonatal unit is a 14-cot unit, with 2 intensive care cots, 3 high dependency cots, and 8 special care cots. We work closely with the Maternity and Paediatric teams, and are part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Network. We accept referrals from all networks, and are ideally situated for this due to our location close to the M6, M56, and M62.
Person Specification
We are looking for a Neonatal Nurse with the following qualifications and experience:
- RGN, RSCN, or RN (Adult or Child)
- Post-registration qualification in neonatal specialist area (ENB 405 or equivalent)
- Teaching and assessing or mentorship qualification
- Two years clinical experience in speciality
