About the Role:

We are seeking a Clinical Research Professor to join our team at the University of Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to lead and contribute to the development of our Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health research group.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cardiology and a proven track record of academic leadership, with a focus on clinical care and research. They will also have experience of working in a research-intensive environment and a demonstrated ability to secure funding for research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Electrocardiology Group in the College and be responsible for all aspects of management of the Group
  • Develop and implement individual and/or joint research projects of international standard
  • Secure funding for research projects and lead in major funding bids
  • Support the Electrocardiology Group Clinical Trials Manager/Quality Systems Manager in maintaining ISO 9001-2015 registration

Person Specification:

  • PhD or MD in a related discipline
  • Requisite clinical qualification and certification for clinical practice at Consultant level in Cardiology in the UK
  • Current and continuing registration with the General Medical Council
