Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accredited Clinical Coder to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Coding Team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely clinical coding, using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications, and adhering to national coding standards and local clinical coding policies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collect, collate, and code clinical information, highly complex in nature, covering a wide range of specialties.
  • Maintain own productivity by ensuring high-quality work is done by required timescales.
  • Liaise with line managers to confirm appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes where national guidance is unclear.
  • Regularly liaise with and update managers and senior colleagues regarding deficiencies and ambiguity in clinical documentation to facilitate discussions with clinical teams and other departments.
  • Act as a mentor to Coders and Trainees/Apprentices within the department.

Requirements
  • National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ)

  • Supervisory and or mentoring experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
