Job Summary

The Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Eating Disorders Community Services team. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in promoting the psychological health and well-being of children and adults in our service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment interventions for all ages in the Community Eating Disorders Service, using a variety of applied psychology models.
  • Conduct clinical supervision of pre-qualified psychology staff and provide placements and supervision to Doctoral Clinical Psychology trainees.
  • Supervise and support psychologically based care and treatment provided by other clinical members of the team.
  • Contribute to specialist clinical risk assessments and complex risk management planning as part of routine clinical work.
  • Work compassionately with service users and carers to achieve identified goals and promote independence and well-being.
About the Role

This is a permanent Band 7/8a Clinical Psychology role, working across the county. We are seeking enthusiastic candidates who can contribute positively and flexibly to a dynamic service. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commitment to the principles of person-centred service delivery, excellent professional and clinical skills, and preferably experience of work within the Eating Disorders.

Person Specification
  • Registered as Practitioner Psychologist with the HPC.
  • Post Graduate doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent Applied Psychology qualification), as accredited by the BPS.
  • Receipt of at least 25 hours clinical supervision while working at a highly specialist level in a directly relevant area and in an increasingly autonomous capacity.
