At Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking an exceptional Lead Gynaecology Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced nurse to take on a leadership role in our Gynaecology Outpatients department.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in Women's Health to lead our team of nurses. As a Lead Gynaecology Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical leadership and management to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. You will also have a strong understanding of nursing policies and procedures, as well as experience in managing budgets and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care.
  • To develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
  • To manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the nursing team, including rostering, training, and performance management.
  • To collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • To maintain accurate records and reports, and contribute to the development of nursing policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A registered nurse qualification and current NMC registration.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of nurses.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing policies and procedures, particularly in relation to Women's Health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Good IT skills and experience of using electronic patient record systems.
