Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Cancer Directorate, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing nurse-led cancer services, with a focus on urology and prostate cancer.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse, you will be responsible for managing and leading prostate cancer services, including the assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation of care. You will also be responsible for leading a workforce of urology cancer specialist nurses and implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care.

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual who is able to lead by example, influencing others to provide the highest levels of safe and effective care, while promoting positive patient experiences and outcomes.

As a developmental post, you will be offered mentorship, coaching, or clinical supervision to support your career development and growth.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. Manage and lead prostate cancer services, including the assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  2. Lead a workforce of urology cancer specialist nurses.
  3. Implement a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care.
  4. Develop and implement nurse-led cancer services, with a focus on urology and prostate cancer.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse educated to Degree level or willingness to undertake.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Masters Degree.
  • Non-medical Prescribing.
Skills
  • Significant relevant experience in the specialty and ability to demonstrate expert nursing skills.
  • Experience in urology and/or surgery and/or oncology.
Additional Requirements
  • To act in a professional manner at all times in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Capable of developing liaisons with other practice areas and academic institutions.
