Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Band 6 Continence Specialist Nurse to join our integrated community team covering the Peterborough area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To assess and manage complex patients with bladder and bowel problems in their homes or in nurse-led clinics.
  • To participate in teaching and mentoring of other healthcare professionals.
  • To engage in clinical trials and research projects related to continence care.
  • To develop and implement specialist packages of care for individuals with continence problems.
  • To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to prevent admissions, support early discharge, and provide ongoing or shared care for patients with continence issues.
  • To provide advice and education to the general public and other healthcare professionals on continence care.
  • To participate in evidence-based audits and research projects to improve continence care practices.
Person Specification:
  • Registered nurse with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and level of experience of tissue viability/continence within the present job.
  • Excellent verbal skills, good record-keeping skills, and ability to use tact, diplomacy, and persuasion in implementing change.
  • Skilled in teaching trained and untrained staff, carers, and patients.
  • Ability to remain calm and work effectively in pressure situations.
