Neurosurgical Specialist Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled neurosurgical specialist nurse to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our neurosurgical services.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, and implement care for patients with complex neurosurgical conditions, including neurovascular disorders, brain tumors, and spinal conditions.
• Work closely with consultant neurosurgeons, allied health professionals, and other healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
• Develop and implement specialist nursing care programs, including nurse-led clinics and procedures, to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospital length of stay.
• Participate in research projects, contribute to service development, and lead clinical audits to drive improvements in patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
• Registered nurse with a degree-level qualification and post-registration experience in neurosurgery or a related field.
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience of formal teaching and mentorship, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
