About the Role:

The Deputy Head of School for Commercial, Creative Industries and HE is a key position within the College Management Group, responsible for assisting the Head of School and other members of the School Management Group in communicating policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in communicating policies and procedures to staff, ensuring high-quality delivery and compliance with expectations.
  • Focus on improving outcomes of programmes across the School, with a clear emphasis on securing high grades and improving teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Monitor and support the teaching team, ensuring all students have opportunities to develop employability skills through work experience and other work-related learning activities.
  • Support student progression to Higher Education, drawing on excellent teaching and/or pastoral skills.
  • Proven effective experience of teamwork, managing change, and excellent knowledge of Government policy context for the curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level within a relevant discipline or with an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Teaching qualification and qualified to work for awarding bodies (e.g., Ofsted, QAA).
  • Strong awareness of future developments influencing the curriculum, particularly the needs of the local and regional economy.
