The Telegraph Magazine is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Editor to join its award-winning team. As a key member of the editorial department, you will be responsible for identifying and commissioning compelling long-form features that resonate with our intelligent and affluent audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and edit long-form features, interviews, and news features, with a special interest in and experience of fixing interviews across all subject areas.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with freelance writers, literary agents, and publicists to secure high-quality content.
  • Oversee regular magazine features and work closely with the editorial team to ensure seamless production.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative content strategies and ideas that align with the Telegraph's brand and values.
  • Collaborate with the picture director, art director, and digital teams to brief them on feature direction and requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in commissioning and editing long-form content.
  • Digital knowledge and the ability to think in a 360-degree way.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • A strong network of contacts in the literary, entertainment, and arts sectors.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small, dynamic team.
