At Hachette UK, we are seeking a Senior Commissioning Editor to join our team. As a key member of our editorial department, you will be responsible for commissioning and publishing a range of titles across various subjects, including lifestyle, design, nature, wellness, and practical art.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for illustrated publishing and a proven track record of commissioning successful titles. You will be responsible for assessing, commissioning, and profitably publishing a broad mix of internationally focused, predominantly illustrated titles.

You will work closely with authors, artists, and agents to negotiate contracts and maintain clear communication. Additionally, you will project manage select titles, including structural editing, preparing illustration and design briefs, and overseeing editorial schedules.

We are looking for a creative and entrepreneurial editor with a background in illustrated publishing. Key attributes include a passion for illustrated publishing, sound commercial awareness, and excellent commissioning taste.
