Job Title: Student Support Liaison

Location: On-site, Manchester, UK

Salary: £26,000 to £29,000 (Depending on experience and qualification)

Employment Type: Full-time, weekdays and weekends (5 days)

Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm, or 1:30pm – 9:30pm

Job Summary

The Student Support Liaison will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to students throughout their academic journey. This role requires an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support to students in areas such as academic progress, personal issues, and career guidance
  • Act as the primary point of contact for students, responding to enquiries and providing information in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage student attendance and absences, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to identify and address student concerns, and provide feedback on academic progress
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student information
  • Provide regular and accurate reports to the university and partner institutions
  • Organise and facilitate events and workshops aimed at promoting student engagement and enhancing the student experience
  • Monitor and track student attendance, academic progress, and behaviour, and intervene where necessary
  • Enrol and withdraw students through the administration system
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of support services and policies
  • Ensure continuous delivery of quality service, representing the university in a professional manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in a similar role within a higher education institution
  • Excellent customer service skills, and communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by students in higher education and an ability to provide appropriate support
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge in Microsoft Suites
  • A commitment to upholding the university's values and policies
