Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Heritage Consultant/Principal Consultant to join our team at Archaeological Research Services Ltd. This is a full-time position based in one of our offices or on-site across the UK, with a competitive salary ranging from £28,620 to £42,400 depending on experience.

Job Description:

  • Engage in diverse project work, including customer liaison, relationship-building, negotiation, and care.
  • Produce desk-based assessments, Environmental Statement chapters, setting studies, WSIs, HIAs, quality assurance report checks, and contribute to networking and marketing efforts.
  • Supervise staff and oversee the successful initiation and delivery of projects.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Consultancy team, scheduling, monitoring, and ensuring accountability for the Heritage team's work programs.
  • Negotiate with clients and stakeholders, produce project reports and costings, and create accurate documentation as needed.
  • Drive and use CAD or GIS to support assessments and Environmental Statement chapters.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent attainment.
  • Experience working in an office environment and conducting oneself professionally.
  • Motivating and supervising staff, dealing with clients, curators, and the public.
  • Team leadership, line management, goal-setting, holding staff accountable, and delivering results through others.
  • Documented experience producing high-quality assessments, environmental statements, setting studies, heritage statements, and delivering consultancy services.
  • Sound judgment and delivering successful outcomes that consider complexities in providing independent consultancy advice.
  • Quality assurance, including report checking, evaluation, excavation, and other types of reports.
  • Working to deadlines, working independently, and as part of a team.
