Working Pattern: 28 hours per week

Salary: Grade 7; £37,099 to £45,585 per annum pro-rata, with potential to progress to £49,794 per annum pro-rata through sustained exceptional contribution.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our well-established Student Mental Health, Counselling and Therapies Service. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work alongside our team to provide high-quality support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage mental health difficulties, including risk assessment and management.
  • Deliver psychoeducation and follow-up sessions based on therapeutic approaches.
  • Screen students' self-referral forms and provide advice on student mental health to other University staff.
  • Manage a caseload with the aim of seeing matters through to conclusion.

Requirements:

  • Clinical qualification and registration with relevant experience.
  • Excellent organisational and people skills.
  • Ability to work closely with other areas within Student Support Services and the NHS.
