Job Summary

As an Oracle e-Business Suite Specialist at the Commonwealth of Virginia, you will be responsible for systems analysis, functional analysis, design, application problem resolution, and support. You will work with Oracle eBusiness administration, Service, HRMS, Financial Modules, and SQLPlus to collaborate with business stakeholders and other cross-functional team members to produce scalable, efficient, and supportable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain application security, responsibilities, and roles.
  • Ensure appropriate set-up and security decisions are made for the ORACLE database by working with the Data Base Administrator.
  • Assist in the installation of the ERP applications on user PCs, customization of user reports and tables.
  • Manage and lead an agile team and be responsible for developing quality deliverables that satisfy user requirements and VSP IT/VITA standards.
  • Develop complete project plans; track project progress; monitor milestones, schedules, and costs against estimates; identify and manage risk; and coordinate requirements with stakeholders, other systems, and the Engineering unit.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, stakeholder participation, ongoing communications with stakeholders, and timely user sign-off/acceptance.
  • Perform systems analysis tasks including project identification, requirements definition, conceptual design, detail design, conversion planning, implementation planning, system administration, and documentation.
  • Develop functional expertise of organizational units supported.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on programming languages and technology related to the Information Technology Industry.
  • Assist and provide direction to co-workers on using new techniques and on solving their complex technical problems.
  • Ensure Agile Principles are followed within the team to help increase speed and quality of delivery and improve alignment across projects.
  • Follow Scrum methodology that suits project/team.
  • Participate in Agile Ceremonies.
  • Work as a team to improve/enhance the seven patterns of Agile.
  • Participate in Team building exercises.
  • Strive to be self-organizing and Cross Functional.
  • Ensure a safe work area.
Requirements
  • This position requires extensive experience with systems analysis and design, and application problem resolution and support.
  • Demonstrated ability to define user requirements, design, and develop solutions, and prepare complex documents including program specifications.
  • Expertise with Oracle eBusiness administration, Service, HRMS, Financial Modules, and SQLPlus.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other cross-functional team members to produce scalable, efficient, and supportable solutions utilizing Oracle and related technologies.
  • Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with management, users, information technology personnel, and vendors, both orally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to successfully interact in a team environment.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software application deployment and configuration issues, resolve complex application issues in Oracle e-Business Suite Modules (HRMS and Financial) and Oracle e-Business Process Management (BPM) workflows using automated recovery scripting and procedures.

  • Experience with Oracle applications desired.
