We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned educator to lead our geography department as the Head of Geography. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of geography education at our school.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement a comprehensive curriculum that not only meets national standards but also inspires students to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject. To achieve this, you will work closely with our leadership team, collaborate with colleagues, and stay abreast of the latest developments in geography education.

As a leader, you will be expected to foster a culture of excellence within the department, promoting high-quality teaching and learning practices. You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding a team of Geography teachers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to excel in their roles.

We offer a competitive salary package of $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. If you are passionate about geography education and possess the required qualifications and experience, we encourage you to submit your application.

Job Overview:About the Role:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary educator to lead our geography department and contribute to the continued success of our school. As the Head of Geography, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a curriculum that meets national standards and fosters a deep understanding and appreciation of the subject among students.

You will work closely with our leadership team, collaborate with colleagues, and stay abreast of the latest developments in geography education. Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning practices, and mentoring and guiding a team of Geography teachers.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • A degree in Geography or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in education or leadership
  • Proven experience as a Geography teacher, with a strong track record of achieving excellent results
  • Leadership experience, ideally as a Head of Department or in a similar leadership role
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the geography curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to professional development and staying updated with best practices in education
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably with a diverse student population
