We are seeking a Casual Residential Youth Worker to join our team at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, Canterbury Care and Protection Group Homes. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team, providing care and support to our young people in the Canterbury region.
As a Casual Residential Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing daily care and support, coaching rangatahi through our structured day, participating in activities, and supporting their educational and personal development. You will also be required to establish rapport with rangatahi who have experienced trauma and assist with redirecting behaviour.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:- Experience working with rangatahi and tamariki
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience
- Sound judgement and risk management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Salary Range: $NZD 55,000 - 65,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
