Job Title: Export/Import Team Manager

Location: Hayes

We are seeking an experienced Export/Import Team Manager to support our Perishable division. The successful candidate will have prior leadership experience within Freight, with a strong understanding of Perishable goods.

About the Role:

  • Oversee the end-to-end movement of perishable products, managing shipments and liaising with carriers, handling agents, transport, and warehouse teams to resolve exceptions.
  • Build and expand relationships within the Perishable Customer Portfolio, participating in customer calls and meetings to align services with their needs.
  • Ensure adherence to customs compliance and documentation standards, including managing customs entries for specialist licenses and handling any retrospective compliance requirements.
  • Manage job files with accurate information.
  • Implement active leadership practices to engage and develop team members, leading weekly briefings and driving a collaborative culture.
  • Complete all statutory and mandatory training requirements, ensuring team compliance with relevant procedures and documentation standards.
  • Perform any other duties required to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Experience in exports/imports, including exposure to perishable goods logistics.
  • Understanding of HMRC procedures and familiarity with CDS is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet customer needs professionally and maintain high standards in customer service.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and drive teams toward achieving KPIs and operational goals.
  • Experience using Cargowise would be beneficial but is not essential.

We will need to conduct pre-employment checks, including a 5-year checkable employment/education history and a DBS check.
