We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our infection services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical care to patients with infectious diseases, including diagnosis, treatment, and management.
- Lead and manage clinical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in clinical research and audit, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices.
- Teach and mentor junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Basic medical degree and postgraduate medical diploma (MRCP or equivalent).
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
- CCT in Infectious Diseases or eligibility for acquiring the same within 6 months of the date of the AAC, or equivalent qualification from outside the EU (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC).
- CCT in General Internal Medicine or eligibility for acquiring the same within 6 months of the date of the AAC, or equivalent qualification from outside the EU (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC).
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC.
- Higher Degree.
- Qualification in Medical Education (Certificate, Diploma, Masters).
- Current ALS certification.
- Postgraduate experience of working in Intensive Care or High Dependency Medicine.
