Consultant in Endocrinology and General Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Endocrinologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a specialist in endocrinology and diabetes, you will play a crucial role in providing expert clinical care to patients with endocrine conditions, both in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
Main Responsibilities- Providing expert clinical care to patients with endocrine conditions, including diabetes and general internal medicine.
- Collaborating with our multidisciplinary diabetes and endocrine teams to develop pathways and provide multidisciplinary care.
- Working with colleagues across specialties to develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Participating in rotational shared care of an 18-bed diabetes/general medical ward.
- Specialty consults and supervision of Specialty Registrars.
- Providing 1:8 general medicine and specialty weekend and bank holiday ward cover.
- Providing 1:16 8pm - 8am out-of-hours telephone advice for general medicine.
- Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, contributing to their development and training.
- Contributing to audit, clinical governance, and service development.
- Supporting participation in research and clinical trials.
- Participating in departmental meetings, case presentations, and teaching sessions for medical students and doctors in training.
