Clinical Lead in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert clinical care to patients with infectious diseases and general internal medicine conditions
- Leading and managing clinical teams to ensure effective delivery of services
- Contributing to the development of our services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways and protocols
- Participating in educational and research activities to enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Basic medical degree
- Postgraduate medical diploma (MRCP or equivalent)
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- CCT in Infectious Diseases or eligibility for acquiring the same within 6 months of the date of the AAC, or equivalent qualification from outside the EU (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
- CCT in General Internal Medicine or eligibility for acquiring the same within 6 months of the date of the AAC, or equivalent qualification from outside the EU (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Higher Degree
- Qualification in Medical Education (Certificate, Diploma, Masters)
- Current ALS certification
- Postgraduate experience of working in Intensive Care or High Dependency Medicine
