Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Compensation: Competitive Salary

Work Schedule:

Early Shift: 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday-Thursday), 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM (Friday) with a 10% shift premium (37 hours)

Late Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Monday-Thursday), 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM (Friday) with a 15% shift premium (37 hours)

Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM and 7:30 AM to 3:15 PM on Friday (37 hours) – Note: Successful candidates will initially work a day shift before transitioning to the above shift patterns.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Team Overview:

Join Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, as a Manufacturing Engineer within our innovative team. We specialize in the design, production, and testing of industrial turbochargers serving the power generation, marine, and rail traction sectors.

Your Impact:

  • Utilize your expertise in contemporary machining and manufacturing techniques, including NC programming, particularly in low-volume, high-precision environments such as Aerospace or Power Generation. We seek motivated individuals who excel in problem-solving and can thrive both independently and collaboratively.
  • Daily Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee manufacturing projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective planning, and budget management.
  • Develop and maintain essential documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and operational instructions.
  • Conduct investigations into non-conformance issues through root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
  • Perform inspection tasks, including the generation of non-conformance reports and protocols for in-process and final inspections.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • Identify and acquire necessary jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and lifting equipment.
  • Initiate and execute cost-reduction strategies.
  • Engage in NC programming for multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machinery.
  • Program CMMs utilizing PC-DMIS.

Candidate Profile:

  • Preferably, candidates should possess a minimum of HNC level qualification or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, with relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing environment with a solid grasp of machining techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX (CAM) and Hypermill is advantageous.
  • Understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Proficient in computer and software applications.
