Job Opportunity: Assistant Head of Department

Educated Appointments is pleased to be working with a reputable educational institution to recruit an Assistant Head of Department for their Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades provision.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Department in managing and enhancing the curriculum across our Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades areas, which include Construction Multi-Skills, Property Maintenance Operations, and Bricklaying.

  • Travel between campuses as needed to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Head of Department in developing and implementing curriculum strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades programs.
  3. Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures to promote excellence in teaching and learning.
  4. Provide guidance and support to teaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and assessment practices.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive teaching experience in a Construction-related field, with a proven track record of success.
  2. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and external partners.
  4. Ability to travel between campuses as needed.
