Head of Department Opportunity

VRS Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Department to join our client's operations in Cambridge.

This is a unique opportunity to spearhead discovery research from early development and project inception to pre-clinical efforts and first in human clinical trials. As Head of Department, you will manage teams of Scientists and liaise across departments to provide strategic input into the expansion of our client's drug discovery portfolio.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

  • A strong background in a relevant Scientific discipline, with a BSc, MSc or PhD
  • Proven experience progressing small molecules through the different phases of Discovery into Optimisation and into Pre-clinical Drug Discovery
  • Demonstrable experience in an industry setting, with expertise in translational pharmacology
  • Experience managing teams of Scientists and program teams
  • Excellent communication skills

This position will be based onsite in Cambridge and offers a highly competitive salary, generous OTE scheme (15%). Our client provides a vibrant and dynamic working environment in an exciting, fast-moving time for biology.
