Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Engagement Officer to join our team at the Cabinet Office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new Arms Length Body, the Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA), which aims to provide compensation to those infected and affected by the infected blood scandal.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining trust with the infected and affected community, ensuring effective, open, and transparent communications. You will support our engagement with stakeholders through stakeholder management and targeted content, working collaboratively across teams to deliver clear and accurate communications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the delivery of tailored stakeholder engagement, meeting the needs of stakeholders and users of our services.
  2. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, feeding back learnings to inform strategy and design.
  3. Draft, create, and deliver clear content for external audiences and channels.
  4. Identify opportunities to promote IBCA messages and support those we serve.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation and externally with stakeholders and officials.
  6. Ensure proper use of insight and evaluation across all activity to inform future work.
  7. Contribute to strategic plans, evaluation documents, reports, and other IBCA communications materials.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Delivering clear, accurate, and effective communications and engagement content.
  • Excellent written skills, able to explain complex policy information to non-expert audiences.
  • Experience of working collaboratively across teams, with colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, prioritising work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to challenge decisions.
