Cyber Security Expert with AI Research Focus

Darktrace is a global leader in cyber security AI, delivering complete AI-powered solutions to protect its customers from complex threats.

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Expert to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge technology. As a Cyber Security Expert with AI research focus, you will work as a security analyst for 6 months to train as a security professional, before transitioning to the software development team, working on the automation of the security analysis process.

This role provides full training in security, making it an ideal opportunity for researchers looking to break into the field of cyber security. No prior knowledge of security is required. The expectation is to work a minimum of 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing AI-powered security solutions to protect our customers from complex threats.
  • You will work closely with our software development team to automate the security analysis process.
  • You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our cutting-edge technology and make a meaningful impact on the field of cyber security.

What We Offer:

  • An estimated annual salary of £60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package including 23 days' holiday + all public holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years of service, private medical insurance, life insurance, salary sacrifice pension scheme, and more.

Requirements:

  • A PhD in any technical area or equivalent research background.
  • Some experience in programming languages like Python.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and take independent decisions.

Desirable:

  • Experience with data science techniques (statistics, clustering, classification).
  • Experience with software engineering best practices (object-oriented code, continuous integration, unit testing).
