Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Billings and Benefits Officer to join our team at Empro Consultants. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering all aspects of Council Tax billing and benefits processes, ensuring a high standard of quality and accuracy of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer day-to-day Council Tax billing and benefits processes, promoting efficiency and continuous improvement
- Interpret and apply Council Tax and Benefits legislation, ensuring processes and decisions align with law and policy guidelines
- Administer the Local Council Tax Support Scheme in accordance with local policy and guidelines
- Respond to customer inquiries, providing statements of reasons, correcting errors, and reconsidering decisions as necessary
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in a benefits section or similar environment, dealing with income-related assessments
- Good working knowledge of Council Tax and Housing Benefits law and procedures
- Experience in customer/public contact, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in accurately maintaining and interpreting personal and financial data
