Job Title: Consultant Gastroenterologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at Medacs. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our gastroenterology services.

About the Role

This is a substantive or 12-month fixed-term contract, with visa sponsorship available. You will be working across two main sites, with the option to accommodate individual needs and special interests. Participation in the GIM on-call rota is desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, and management of patient care
  • Support patients and their families, communicating clinical information and treatment options
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment
  • Monitor and care for patients, communicating with the multidisciplinary team
  • Assess and prioritise patient requirements, delegating effectively to others
  • Recognise, review, and report patient conditions and changes to the team
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks, such as keeping records and writing prescriptions
  • Conduct research to develop and test surgical techniques and equipment
  • Teach and train junior doctors and medical students
Requirements
  • Current GMC full registration and licence to practise
  • MRCP and entry on GMC specialist register for Gastroenterology or within 12 months of CCT date or Portfolio Pathway approval
  • Ability to demonstrate independent clinical experience, knowledge, and skill in Gastroenterology at Consultant level
  • Minimum 6 months UK experience
  • CV demonstrating experience and competencies for this level and specialty
