Job Title: Consultant Gastroenterologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at Medacs. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our gastrointestinal services.

About the Role

This is a substantive or 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity, with visa sponsorship available. You will be working across two main sites, with the option to accommodate individual needs and special interests. Participation in the GIM on-call rota is desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, and management of patient care, including preoperative, operative, and postoperative care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses and treatment options in a clear and concise manner.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment, including medications and procedures.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct research to improve surgical techniques and equipment, and contribute to the development of new treatments and procedures.
  • Teach and train junior doctors and medical students, and contribute to the education and development of other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Current GMC full registration and license to practice.
  • MRCP and entry on the GMC specialist register for Gastroenterology or within 12 months of CCT date or within 12 months of expected Portfolio Pathway approval.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent clinical experience, knowledge, and skill in Gastroenterology at Consultant level.
  • Minimum 6 months UK experience.
  • CV demonstrating experience and competencies for this level and specialty.
