Curatorial Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Curatorial Assistant to join our Exhibitions department at the Southbank Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning, organization, and delivery of our exhibitions and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the curatorial team in the development and implementation of exhibition concepts and strategies
- Coordinate logistics and operations for exhibitions, including installation, de-installation, and transportation of artworks
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful exhibition outcomes
- Contribute to the development of exhibition catalogues, labels, and other educational materials
- Provide administrative support to the curatorial team, including scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping
The Exhibitions department at the Southbank Centre is responsible for delivering a diverse and innovative exhibition program that showcases the work of local, national, and international artists. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A degree in a relevant field, such as art history, curatorial studies, or a related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Experience in a curatorial or exhibitions role, preferably in a museum or gallery setting
- Knowledge of art handling and installation procedures
