Operations Manager Job Description

Harrison Scott Associates is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all activities across the site, from material preparation through to dispatch, including Health and Safety and Quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support the management team, including Shift Supervision, Team Leaders, material preparation, process technicians, production operators, 2nd operations, warehouse and logistics.
  • Work in conjunction with the Engineering/Technical Manager to improve machine equipment safety, utilization and efficiencies.
  • Ensure efficient production planning/logistics to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining optimum stock levels.
  • Support the General Manager with a specific focus on the performance of all elements within the plant, its systems and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role (5/10 years)
  • Strong hands-on management experience
  • Ability to develop, lead and motivate others
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • ERP knowledge
  • QA process knowledge
  • Health and Safety knowledge
  • Highly computer literate e.g. Excel/Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Demonstrates experience of making sound judgment under pressure.
  • Team Player
  • Systematic and with high attention to detail
  • Already have developed a career and will probably have held practical roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical or process engineering background that reinforces extensive know-how of low margin, high-volume molding and assembly.
  • Ability to lead and promote Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Working knowledge of machinery safety regulations and legislation
  • Ability to make decisions that maximize plant output and efficiency whilst balancing those decisions with safety, product quality and cost.
  • Understand financial information.
