About the Role

McLaren Automotive is seeking a highly skilled Material Planner to join our team. As a Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery Scheduling: Create and maintain achievable delivery schedules that support the requirements of our series and development programs, while ensuring inventory levels remain within budgeted targets.
  • Inventory Management: Use MRP to balance demand and supply, creating a delivery plan that satisfies the combined requirements of production, development, and any other sources, keeping inventory within approved limits.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address risks to production requirements, supplier lead times, schedule stability, planned inventory levels, and warehousing capacities, escalating when necessary.
  • Team Management: Manage and coach a team of logistics professionals to ensure the successful execution of logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Communication: Proactively set up meetings with purchasing and material control to present plans, engineering changes, and capacity constraints.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to optimize logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Own and manage MRP parameter data to deliver the correct inventory levels and stability to McLaren's Operations, and manage schedule adherence data against KPI targets.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in SAP.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the automotive industry, familiarity with operating metrics to drive performance, and a comprehensive grasp of planning principles and objectives.
